The World Heads-Up Poker is an annual elimination-format tournament held every May in Spain. Originally conceptualized by Nic Szeremeta, Jon Shoreman, and Rich Geller, the World Heads-Up Poker Championship rules allows players to compete in one-on-one no limit texas holdem poker matches.

To get a seat, players have to pay the non-refundable buy-in fee worth €2,500 and the entry fee worth €100. In return, each player receives 20,000 euroworth of chips. If players are less than 128, the organizers of WHPC reserve the right to draw "bye" players.

Players are grouped into brackets. They are also randomly paired at a table. The tournament shall use single elimination structure. Once a player loses, the player is considered out of the tournament. The winning player progresses to the next stage of the tournament. A player loses if they lose all their chips to their opponent.

All players will start The small blind is the player on button. The player on button is the first to act before the flop, and the last to act after the flop. The blinds will be raised at a 30-minute interval. There are a total of 6 blind levels in WHUPC. The small blind starts at €100 and freezes at €500, while the big blind starts at €200 and freezes at €1000.

The World Heads-Up Poker Championship rules of distribution of prizes:

Prizes are rewarded proportionally, with the champion getting the larger chunk of the prize. The amount of prizes to be spread proportionally among winning players will depend on the total pooled buy-in. If all 128 seats are taken, the champion goes home with € 125, 000.

This elimination-format tournament of one-on-one poker matches was started in 2001. Because of its popularity, NBC created the National Heads-Up Poker championship closely patterning their rules after the World Heads-Up Poker Championship rules.
